I LOVE football! I watch every game I can during football season. I never miss NFLonFOX on Sunday.
I've also mentioned before that I'm a licensed, bonded, and insured petsitter and own Pampered Paws. Naturally, this makes me an animal advocate. But ...... animals have been my passion my entire life.
All that being said ...... I'm fired up over the "Fired Up!" segment on today's NFLonFOX broadcast. Michael Strahan spoke today, and his topic was putting Michael Vick's past in the past.
Now ...... if you're a Facebook friend or follower of Pampered Paws, then you've seen my rant and indignation on Mr. Strahan's segment, but if you're not ...... well ......
Earlier today I saw an article by Bill Plaschke addressing the permanent damage - mentally and physically - of one dog that was abused at the hand of Michael Vick. I personally emailed each member of NFLonFOX today highlighting this article because I want them to know the indignation many of us feel. Of course, I'm not so naive to believe that they'll read or even see my email; it simply makes me feel better to get it off my chest.
My line of thought -- when the dogs abused at the hand of Michael Vick can put THEIR past in the past, then we, as the public, will work on putting Michael Vick's past in his past.
But not a moment before.
To me, any sort of animal abuse is unforgivable. Especially ones that are supposed to be loving pets. All they want in life is to love and be loved, and these people take advantage of that. This goes from the Vick extreme, all the way down to these hunters we have around here that drive around with their dogs in tiny cages in the back of their trucks. I have no sypathy for animal abusers. If they will abuse an animal like that, there's a good chance they will abuse another human being.
