My Life in Pictures! #9

A picture that can always make you smile

I used to teach high school - Business/Distributive Education and English. The last 2 years I taught I sponsored the Junior Class and then the Senior Class. I always referred to them as "my Seniors;" they were a terrific group of students, and I loved every minute I was with them.

One Saturday morning when I looked out the front window all I could say was, "oh my." We had been "rolled" and "forked" during the night. There was toilet paper streaming from the roof, the trees, the porch - everywhere. Plastic forks were sticking everywhere in the front yard. It was the funniest sight! When I opened the front door, the storm door had been "painted" and read, "your Senior girls love you, Mrs. Lippiatt!"

Needless to say, we were the talk of the neighborhood that Saturday! We laughed the entire time we cleaned the yard. I put all the toilet paper and plastic forks in a large lawn/garden bag; on Monday morning I took the bag and sat it on a desktop in my room. As "my Seniors" walked in that morning, they would cut their eyes at the bag and then at me; then they'd just look at each other and snicker. All I could do was sit at my desk and smile.

We laugh about this still! It's a great memory, and one I will definitely never forget!
