20 Years

On Wednesday my husband and I will celebrate our 20th anniversary. I told him the other day that's the longest I ever stayed with any boyfriend!

No truer words were ever spoken when someone said opposites attract. The only things we have in common are that we're both educators (he still teaches - I'm the smart one and "retired") and our son.

He is from the north; I am from the south.
He is a middle child; I am an only child.
He is quiet; I am outgoing.
He has a temperament that boils; my temperament simmers.
He "gets over things;" I show you "the error of your ways."
He forgives; I never forget.
He likes to participate in sports; I am a professional spectator.
He likes science fiction; I like comedy.
He has lived in many different places; I live in the same city where I was born.

These are just a few, but we've made it 20 years! Seems hard to believe in many ways. In some ways the years have gone by so slowly; in some ways the years have flown. I guess all in all - I'll hold on to him a while longer! I'm too old to train someone new.
