The Serenity of the Ocean

Ahhhh .... the beach!
Ahhhh .... the waves!
Ahhhh .... the surf!

We have just returned from spending a week in Kill Devil Hills, NC -- more commonly known as Nags Head or the Outer Banks (OBX). If you read the description above for "Lipplounge," then you know that someday we hope to give that name to our very own beach cottage!

It was a beautiful week! The weather was terrific - not the first sweltering, humid day. Each day was in the low to mid 80's with a constant breeze. In fact, when on the beach under an umbrella it was actually a tad chilly! We only had rain one evening and one morning - that gave me the opportunity to spend time at my favorite bookstore .... Manteo Booksellers in Manteo, NC (home of The Lost Colony). Our first day was July 4, and we spent the evening watching the fireworks shot off over the Atlantic Ocean. The way they reflect off the water is breathtaking.

Have you ever lived on the water? I have. I do. I've lived on the water my entire life. It's so relaxing .... serene .... full of life .... calming. An excellent place to just be as one with your thoughts. There's something so calming sitting in front of the ocean - listening to the surf hit the beach - watching the waves - listening to the seagulls - watching the black pelicans - watching the dolphins.

If you've never been to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, put it on your "bucket list." I promise you will not be disappointed. It's a world of it's own - you will love it!
