I have always heard that problems happen in 3's.
Does it happen to you in 3's?
It seems to happen that way with me.
Well, today should be my #3!
Problem #1
One month ago my husband came home from work on a Friday afternoon with an announcement -- "I think we have a major problem." You have to know my husband (bless his heart), everything is a "major problem!" His truck was heating up and making a weird noise on the drive home. My thought ..... so what else is new. He drives a 1987 Ford Ranger - what could possibly be wrong with this 22 year old truck now.
Fortunately, we have a neighbor and good friend who is a Ford Master Mechanic. I don't know how I would have gotten through this year in particular if it weren't for him. He looked and listened to the truck and told us it needed a new engine. Oh, goodie!
Then the dilemma .....
do you fix the truck? ......
do you junk the truck?
My husband wanted to know what I thought he should do ..... trust me when I say this - I have no opinion - it's his truck - I don't care what he does about the truck - just do something.
I'm still waiting for him to do something about the truck.
Problem #2
One week after my husband comes home telling me "we have a major problem," my son calls me from the front yard saying, "Mom, come out here a minute." My thought ..... what now. He drives a 1993 Mercury Cougar - what could possibly be wrong with this 16 year old car now.
He asked me to get in his car so he can start it and show me something. Somehow I got the feeling it wasn't going to be good. When he started the car, it shook so bad it was like sitting in one of those massaging chairs. That car shook all over. So ..... back to my wonderful neighbor. He looked and listened to the car and told me it needed a harmonic balancer. Have you ever heard of a harmonic balancer? Me either.
My neighbor wanted to know what I wanted to do. My answer - just fix it, please. The car was fixed within 3 days - my son is driving - he's a happy camper.
I'm thrilled.
Problem #3
This morning I go to the garage to put a load of clothes in the washer. When I turn around to go back into the house, I notice some water on the floor. There's not supposed to be water on the floor of the garage.
I checked the AC line immediately hoping it had backed up as it occasionally does. It was too much to hope that it would have been the AC line. The only other place it could come from is the hot water tank. Oh goodie.
Fortunately we have a neighbor and life-long friend who has a plumbing and heating business. I called him and told him what was wrong. I told him I had a perfect solution - however, he wanted to fix it and get hot water back into my house was fine and dandy with me.
A new hot water tank was installed today - I have hot water.
I'm thrilled.
3 problems
My husband is in charge of 1 problem
I was in charge of 2 problems
2 problems solved
1 problem unsolved
Do you notice a pattern?
Problems happen in 3's. I have had my 3 problems. I should be done.
If the 1 problem being unsolved doesn't fit into my equation and something else happens, I will definitely have an opinion!
